The Morris Minor made its debut at the Earls Court Motor Show, London, on 20 September 1948 and immediately captured the heart of the nation with what were both an affordable price tag and a 'friendly' look. From 1952, the estate version came on the market with a timber frame that met with much positive design critique. In the post-war period, a car that was spacious, affordable and economical was sure to sell extremely well, it did and Morris were the first manufacturer to exceed the million unit milestone.This friendly little Morris Traveller, dating back to 1967, has had only two owners from new. The current vendor bought the car as a 'yearling' and has owned it since 1969 and has gone on to average just over 2000 miles a year ever since, with a current odometer reading of 92000.In 1982, the engine was stripped and rebored and in 1991 there was a full body rebuild of the chassis and lower body shell by marque experts, The Morris Minor Centre, Bath. www.silverstoneauctions.28com The Bentley T-Series is an automobile which was produced by Bentley Motors Limited from 1965 to 1980. It was announced and displayed for the first time at the Paris Motor Show on 5 October 1965 as a Bentley-badged version of the totally redesigned chassis-less Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. The Bentley was differentiated from its Rolls Royce sibling by its simpler and lighter front grille.The Bentley, being technically an identical twin of the Rolls-Royce, seemed to be bought mostly by owners wishing a little more understatement but the same luxuries throughout the cabin and the same stately drive.This 1978 Bentley T2 looks resplendent in Dark over Light Blue Metallic two-tone paint, complemented handsomely with a nicely patinated biscuit leather interior. The veneered wooden dashboard is in excellent condition and cased in black leather to the top. The cars headlining looks too good to be original, but no reference to its replacement is in the history. Of course, electric seats, immaculate carpets, and original steering wheel all combine to ensure the cabin remains a lavish place to be.Mechanically, the car is reported to drive as well as it looks thanks largely to Richard Parsons, marque specialist from Salisbury and Phantom Motor Cars of Farnham, Surrey from whom many invoices are present. This cataloguer did not count the totals of the invoices for servicing, but the vendor proudly tells me that it exceeds £37,000. The earliest invoice in the history file dates from 1989 and totals £2,461 from West Hoathly Garage, West Sussex for a thorough service. From 1993 to present day there are a host of service invoices and MoT test certificates tracking the car from a believed genuine mileage of 23,641 then to the 58,707 miles today.Currently SORN, this car has MoT test certificate to September 2012, is sold with V5C registration document and is guided very sensibly indeed. This is an enormous amount of stately motorcar for a sum of money significantly less than you'd expect to pay for a VW Golf!
