www.silverstoneauctions.com 36Lot 111 » 1974 Triumph Stag The Triumph Stag is a British car that was sold between 1970 and 1978 by the Triumph Motor Company, styled by the Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti. The majority of cars were fitted with a Borg-Warner 3-speed automatic transmission since the alternative was a derivative of the ancient Triumph TR2 gearbox. Other than the choice of transmissions there were very few factory-installed options. Electric windows, power steering and power-assisted brakes were standard. In its current ownership since 2004, this car is offered with body panels in all round good condition, including paint, cabin and hard and soft-tops. The subject of a substantial £3,500 spend with Britannia Motor Engineering upon purchase in 2004, the engine is reported to run smoothly and the 3-speed transmission performs as you would expect. This is an honest car with a reputed mileage of just 36,504 miles. There is insufficient early history to warrant this, but when you consider how little wear is evident to the leather and cloth seats, the carpets and the general presentation of the cabin it is possible. The presentation of the engine bay is a little more workmanlike, but it appears authentic and original, which is what you'd want from a Triumph Stag. The front chromework is in reasonable condition, but if the car were mine I would apply some light restoration to the rear chromework which has begun to blemish. This Lot is sold with V5C registration document and MoT test certificate to January 2013.According to the main enthusiast club in the UK, only approximately 9,000 Stags are believed to survive in the United Kingdom making this a rarer proposition than it once was. These cars are popular due to their performance, comparative rarity and Michelotti styling. We can see why...Lot 1111974 Triumph Stag Registration: GYM 352NChassis Number: LD330790Engine Number: LFHEEstimate (£): 7,000 - 9,000

The Spring Sale 16th May 201237The Jaguar XJS was a luxury grand tourer produced by the British manufacturer Jaguar from 1975 to 1996. The XJS replaced the iconic E-Type in September 1975, and was based on the XJ Saloon. Although it never had quite the same sporting image, the XJS was a competent grand tourer, and more aerodynamic than the E-Type.From 1988, a special XJR-S version of the V12 5.3-litre car was produced by JaguarSport, a separate company owned 50:50 by Jaguar and TWR. This car had a distinctive body kit, special alloy wheels and suspension and handling improvements. The first 100 of these cars were termed "Celebration Le Mans" to commemorate Jaguar's 1988 win at Le Mans. This is one such car; Number 072....Originally registered in November 1988, this car had just two owners in its first 10 months before being acquired by the current owner and vendor in September 1989. A Gloucestershire business man with a keen interest in motorsport. It has remained amongst his private collection, albeit having been SORN and unused, for the past several years. With the cars genuine mileage showing sub-32,000 miles covered, this is an increasingly rare opportunity to acquire a Limited Edition car with massive future-classic potential. It is not a concours car and does not pertain to be. The interior and cabin space is offered in very good, but not mint condition, and the bodywork and paint, though generally sound, is thwarted by an unfortunate clash with the garage door on the nearside front bumper, however, overall the car has aged gracefully and you'd be proud to own it. The special alloy wheels have begun to blemish in small patches and for that reason could benefit from light recommissioning.Despite an extended period of no-use, the car will be offered for sale with a fresh MoT test certificate and will be making the journey to auction from South Gloucestershire under its own steam demonstrating that there are no mechanical gremlins to fear.Lot 1121988 Jaguar XJR-S Celebration #072 Registration: F531 BCWChassis Number: SAJJSAEW3BA155006Engine Number: 8S062670HAEstimate (£): 12,000 - 16,000Lot 112 » 1988 Jaguar XJR-S Celebration #072
